Prairie Athletic Studio 3 Mural

Studio 3 at Prairie Athletic Club hosts yoga, Silver Sneakers classes, and ballroom dancing. When I was asked to transform the previously plain room into something more welcoming, I wanted to create visual flow — something to be lost in as pleasant, something that moves with the people who move inside it.

Inside the mural, I hid a tribute to Mike Moe, a beloved ballroom dance instructor who had recently passed away. He and his wife Deb had taught in this very studio for many years. I didn't want to make a grand statement about it — just leave something quiet and meaningful in the room where he worked, for the people who knew him.

It's one of the more personal pieces I've made. I hope the dancers and yogis who use this space every day feel something in it — even if they can't quite say what.
